Game for the budding artist

Production

A great deal of thought went into the creation of the components from the transparent cards, individual artwork and names on each card to the actual canvas that is used as a game board for card placement.

Game Play

In this game each player drafts cards, using their inspiration tokens to select the card of their choice. Though use them sparingly as you only get four the entire game unless you earn them back from other players. The beginning of the game is played quickly as you draft cards that can be used for any of your three pieces of artwork.

Once you have created your first piece of artwork the puzzle and strategy gets more intense as you have less options. A player may only have 5 art cards at a time, which means once you have drafted the first 5 cards you must create your first masterpiece. The piece of art is scored based on the goals immediately upon completion.

The game ends once all players have created 3 pieces of art, points based on the ribbons acquired are tallied and a winner is awarded ‘Best in Show’.

Replayability

The rules overhead for this game is extremely simple, making it straightforward to get back on the table.

The inclusion of 12 goal cards allows for a variety of different scoring opportunities for each game.

There are 60 art cards which are randomized each game to create a new puzzle to meet to goals of the scoring cards.

For our collection this will be a go to game to play with non-gamers as anyone can enjoy this game, yet the puzzle is intriguing for even the advanced gamer.

Who is this game for?

We recommend this game for those who enjoy a great production with a good puzzle. If you like set collection and card drafting this one could be the one.  As the rules are fairly straightforward this game is accessible to non-gamers and gamers alike.
